About this event
14 – 15 September 2021
As you all know the 2020 DSPE Conference had to be cancelled due to the worldwide COVID-19 situation. Initially the idea was to simply delay the conference for a full year. However, the advisory board and organizing committee have concluded that the current situation is still too uncertain to plan for a full blown conference in 2021.
Instead it was decided to postpone the regular conference for an extra year and organize a smaller and more affordable event in 2021.
This 2021 event combines two elements:
1. Inspirational presentations from multiple invited international speakers from adjacent applications areas like bio-inspired mechatronics, robot assisted surgery, virtual reality, artificial intelligence and more.
2. Opportunity of the community to meet/network and exchange idea’s in a pleasant atmosphere including a BBQ.
All participants of the event will come together at the Akademisch Genootschap in Eindhoven and follow the online presentations that are shown on a large screen in a theatre-like setting. A host will facilitate the Q&A session. After the presentations there will be drinks and a BBQ.
The event will start with an afternoon/evening session with 4 guest speakers including speakers from the United States plus a morning session with another 4 guest speakers including those from Asia.
We hope that this concept addresses the need of the community to meet and network face2face instead of only via teleconferencing and the need to be inspired by colleagues worldwide, while given the flexibility to reshape the event towards a full online event if circumstances do not allow for large groups to come together.
Soon we will communicate the practical informatie.
If you want to be informed personally or you want to recommend a guest speaker send an email to the organisation committee; Adrian Rankers & Annemarie Schrauwen
